:::TWO:::

I'm back from my trip to the "Steel City". Yes, that's right...I went to Shittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Let the jokes begin about the town that was built on steel mills, and is worse than Hamilton, Ontario. However, that's not the way I saw this city at all. I thought Pittsburgh and the surrounding area were phenominal.

Me and my dad went primarily for the U.S. Open Championship - one of the biggest golf tournaments of the year. It was held at Oakmont Country Club, which is a monster of a golf course. It ate up the players all week, and arguably played tougher than any U.S. Open golf tournament EVER. The course itself is amazing. The rough is so tall, and just so thick. I can see why players have such a difficult time escaping it. The greens were cut so short, and were rediculously fast and sloped. It was really a true test for all the golfers. We were there from Tuesday to Friday, and we saw all kinds of great shots, and not so great shots. It was a really interesting atmosphere.

Also during my trip, we went to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. Their stadium, PNC Park, has to be one of the nicest places I've ever been. Whoever designed the park is a genius, and worked the Pittsburgh skyline into the design of the park beautifully. It's a shame that they have such a bad team, and can't even get 15,000 people out to this park on any given night. It was a fun night though. We also ate at Grille 36, which is owned by Jerome Bettis. The nachos were they best I've had, and the wings weren't far from the best either.

All in all, it was a good trip, and I am very sunburned. My ear is crispy from the sun...no lie.

Cheers
