The End of Summer...

As I sit here on this Sunday night, watching NASCAR, I started thinking about my summer...and how it has pretty much come to an end. Then I figured, "hey, this would be an excellent topic for a blog". That thought leads us to where we are now...a new post (finally)! My summer hasn't exactly been anything out of the ordinary this year. I didn't go on any life-altering journeys where I had to "find myself". I didn't climb a mountain, or swim across a lake, or anythign like that. But it's been one of those summers where I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've done. I think this is the perfect night tonight to just sit back and write a reflection on some of the things I've done and accomplished, and just some general thoughts about the summer of '07.

The biggest difference this summer when I compare it to past ones, is that I've had almost 5 months off from school. Brock finished in April, and we're going back to school on Thursday (September 6). It's really weird having so much time off. At first, I really had no idea what I was going to do with all the time I had, but looking back at it now, I wonder..."where the hell did the summer go?". Sure, I spent a fair amount of time working and doing that sort of thing, but I mean...I still have no idea where the 5 months went. Other than working, I pretty much just hung around with friends doing normal "summer stuff".

The other thing that was phenominal about this summer, and I really couldn't write a summer blog without mentioning it, is that I spent most of it with the most amazing girl in the world. It's been 8 months and a bit since me and Morgan started dating, and I can honestly say it's been amazing from the get-go. There's not a single girl/person who I can think of that I'd rather have spent the summer with. She was there in the good times, the bad times, the happy times, the sad times. She was there for all the ups and downs, right by my side, and me right by hers. Love is a very surreal thing to sit down and think about, and if you would have asked me last summer if I thought I'd have ever found such an amazing girl and friend like I have with Morgan, I'd have thought you were absolutely crazy. She's made this summer so good, and I wouldn't change anything we did for the world. We did so much stuff together, and every single minute of it was just amazing. I'm so in love, and it's the greatest feeling in the world. (I guess this is quite a change from the last "Morgan blog" I wrote...haha).

Anyways, all-in-all...it was a really good summer. I did pretty much everything I set out to do, and enjoyed the majority of it. I'm going to try and update this thing regularily throughout the school year, so stay tuned!

I'm Alive...Really.

So, I've been trapped in a mine 1,000 feet underground for the last couple months, but thankfully I have been rescued and nurtured back to health.

I was reading one of Dave's blogs today, and he mentioned that he liked reading my blogs, and that they were "lighthearted" or something, so I figured, "hey, I think it's time for a new blog entry". Well, now that I'm out of the mine and back at home, I figured I could spend some time writing. Unfortunately, I don't think Dave will read this as I'm pretty sure he's still in the mine. In fact, I don't know if he survived the large explosion (due to methane gas) that blocked us in there. I don't think anyone knows his status right now (and I don't mean 'status' like, "In a relationship with Kaylee B [Governor Simcoe H.S.]"...I mean whether he's alive or dead. I think my last blog also dealth with the whereabouts of Mr. Schwartz. He surfaced for a couple days after that blog, but that's when this horrible mining disaster took place. In fact, I even went to Taco Bell tonight in hopes of finding the man, but I was instead greeted by a black "fella" named Ashton, and a girl wearing a hijab named Nihal or something (my brother knew her). No Dave.

Other than the search for Dave, I've pretty much been just getting used to life in the outside world again. Being trapped in a mine for so long really gets to you. If some of you people could update me on what's been happening in the last couple months, that would be great. Also, if you can answer any of the following questions, that'd be even better!

1) Are the World Trade Centers rebuilt yet?
2) Does McDonald's still have those amazing Shrek flavoured shakes?
3) Where is Dave?
4) Is R. Kelly still running around trying to attack little girls?
5) WWJD...for a Klondike Bar?
6) Is there any plans for a reunion tour for either Len, LFO, Prozzak, B4-4, or Alliyah?
7) Did the Leafs fire JFJ yet?
8) Where is Dave?
9) Did they discover that Tupac Shakur is indeed Montell Williams?
10) Who shot Mr. Burns?

Thanks for the help adjusting me to the real world :-)

Where In The World Is Dave Schwartz-Sandiego?

WWE Superstar, Chris Benoit, died a couple nights ago. Since this time, I haven't seen or heard from Dave Schwartz-Sandiego.

Was Dave Schwartz-Sandiego so shocked by these tragic events that he also followed suit, and pulled the finisher known as the "Double-Murder Suicide"? Or did he just do another one of his specialty moves such as the "Smothering" or the "Strangler"?

Who knows. Hopefully the answers will come soon!

:::TWO:::

I'm back from my trip to the "Steel City". Yes, that's right...I went to Shittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Let the jokes begin about the town that was built on steel mills, and is worse than Hamilton, Ontario. However, that's not the way I saw this city at all. I thought Pittsburgh and the surrounding area were phenominal.

Me and my dad went primarily for the U.S. Open Championship - one of the biggest golf tournaments of the year. It was held at Oakmont Country Club, which is a monster of a golf course. It ate up the players all week, and arguably played tougher than any U.S. Open golf tournament EVER. The course itself is amazing. The rough is so tall, and just so thick. I can see why players have such a difficult time escaping it. The greens were cut so short, and were rediculously fast and sloped. It was really a true test for all the golfers. We were there from Tuesday to Friday, and we saw all kinds of great shots, and not so great shots. It was a really interesting atmosphere.

Also during my trip, we went to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. Their stadium, PNC Park, has to be one of the nicest places I've ever been. Whoever designed the park is a genius, and worked the Pittsburgh skyline into the design of the park beautifully. It's a shame that they have such a bad team, and can't even get 15,000 people out to this park on any given night. It was a fun night though. We also ate at Grille 36, which is owned by Jerome Bettis. The nachos were they best I've had, and the wings weren't far from the best either.

All in all, it was a good trip, and I am very sunburned. My ear is crispy from the sun...no lie.

Cheers

:::ONE:::

Well, I'm back. After a long break from blogging, I figured that I was due for a return. I started this new blog, got rid of the old one, and I'm going to really try and keep this one maintained better than the last one. I mean, it is summer...and a lot of interesting things usually do happen in these coming months, so at least for the next little while there should be constant updates.

I'm not even going to bother recapping the last few months of me not blogging, 'cause that would take to long, and I simply can't be bothered. This is a fresh start, and I'm kind of excited again about blogging.

I'm off to Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning for the U.S. Open golf tournament. I'm going with my dad - should be a really fun trip. We're going to catch a Pirates game while we're there too. I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyways, I just wanted to start this thing off with something small to get back into the swing of things.

Cheers!
